sms across country. NOT to mobile.?
hey guys. you know all those tv commercials that are like ‘enter to win… send the word win to number 99355′? this things are sms messages sent from your phone to that number with the word win as the msg. how do i fo that if i want to send somethig like this too israel? (i live in canada). the country code there is 972, but it doesn’ work when i try sending it to 97299355′. so how do i do it? keep in mind its not a mobile phone number. its a number that when u send a msg to you get an instatnt automated reply. most of the online sms senders are only to mobile phones. help me please
Unfortunately you can’t do this internationally. These are called ’short codes’ and have to be activated individually by each phone company. It couldn’t work internationally, because there is no way for the Israeli company to bill you for the premium service that you are trying to access.
You should keep in mind that very many of these short-code services are scams and very expensive. For example, you may see an advertisement to send an SMS for a ringtone, a joke service, or a chance at winning something– then miss in the fine print that you are being charged $20 or more.
